Hirotec awarded AGAL building maintenance services contract

The Australian Government Analytical Laboratories (AGAL) have awarded Hirotec the building maintenance services contract for facilities in New South Wales and Victoria.

AGAL is the Australian Government's principal agency for the provision of analytical services in chemistry, microbiology, materials and building science.

According to Paul Sicari, a Director of Hirotec, the tender process was quite extensive and saw Hirotec competing against multinational corporations. “Hirotec’s submission was well planned by the tender delivery team, specifically Kevin King (National Services & Facilities Manager),” he said. “This is an exciting contract for Hirotec as it further broadens our facilities maintenance contract portfolio.”

Contracted services include:

  • Air Conditioning and mechanical ventilation including all plant, refrigeration and water treatment
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical, including switchboards, fire systems and emergency lighting and evacuation systems (EWIS)
  • Carpentry
  • Passenger and goods lifts
  • Fume Cupboards
  • Commercial and Laboratory refrigeration
